Pricing

Driving Lesson Prices

  • R250 per Driving Lesson

Our pricing includes picking you up and dropping you off in Howick or Hilton.

Vehicle hire for your Test Day

You choose whether to do your test in Pietermaritzburg or Mooi River

  • Pietermaritzburg – R900 vehicle hire
  • Mooi River – R900 vehicle hire

Test Preparation

  • R200 per mock test (optional)

The mock test will take you along the test route so that you are familiar with the route and will be better prepared.

Curriculum

Introduction to driving

  • Introduction to vehicle

The first step is to learn the basics about a vehicle. After this lesson you will know where and what everything is in a car.

  • Take offs, stopping and steering

This lesson’s focus is on clutch control, how to use the brake and the steering wheel.

  • Gearing, turning LEFT, stop intersections and yielding

Practicing your gear changes, taking left turns. Also covered is learning about stops/yields.

  • Gearing, turning RIGHT, stop intersections and yielding

Practicing your gear changes, taking right turns. Also covered is learning about stops/yields.

Intermediate Driving

  • Incline take off and recap of previous lessons

Focusing on clutch control you learn to take off on an incline. You will do a review of your past lessons.

  • K53 take off sequence

Introduction to K53 and the sequence of checks and methods for take off.

  • K53 signalling and turning sequence

Further education on K53 with more focus on signalling and turning procedures. 

  • Robot intersections and recap on previous lessons

Introduction to Traffic Robots, how they work, how to use them. At this point in your learning we do another review of your learnings so far.

Yard Work – Parking and technical turns

  • Yard work intro, pre-trip inspections and 3 point turns

Introducing you to how you will be tested, what to check and how to do a 3 point turn.

  • Alley docking

Explanation about what alley docking is and how to do it. 

  • Parallel parking

Explanation about what parallel parking is and how to do it. 

  • Hand signs and emergency stops

You learn about the different hand signals and how and when to use them. Emergency stops are practiced as well.

Test Preparation

  • Test route and test yard introduction

You will be taken on the actual test route, and the testing yard will be explained to you.

  • Mock test and overall recap

In this simulated test you will be timed and marked as you would on your actual test.
