To get your Code 8 licence you will need to become familiar with key concepts of driving safety and methods. You will be taken through lessons at a pace that is suited to you. This is done so that you have enough time to become confident behind the wheel. The following are the main areas of teaching that you will progress through:

Introduction to Driving

  1. Introduction to a vehicle.
  2. Take offs, Stopping and steering.
  3. Gearing, turning LEFT, stop intersections and yielding.
  4. Gearing, turning RIGHT, stop intersections and yielding.

Intermediate Driving

  1. Incline take offs and a recap of previous lessons.
  2. The K53 take off sequence.
  3. K53 signalling and turning sequence.
  4. Robot intersections, And recap on previous lessons.

Yard Work - Parking and technical turns

  1. Yard work intro, pre-trip inspection and 3 point turn.
  2. Alley docking.
  3. Parallel parking.
  4. Hand signs and emergency stop.

Test Preparation

  1. Test route and test yard introduction.
  2. Mock test. Recap on all lessons

Refresher Courses

If it seems like every time you are out on the road there is a problem. It might be that you have simply forgotten the rules. This refresher course should be taken by everyone after a few years of driving. The structure of the course is to get you back in the fast lane like a pro.

Lesson breakdown:

  • Pin pointing your current difficulties.
  • Working on poorly developed driving habits.
  • Revision on rules of the road.

Based on the findings from the first assessment we will tailor a programme for you to get up to speed.

Driving Services for Businesses

 

How courteous are your company's drivers? There might not be dents on your vehicle but what about their behaviour on the road? They could be driving your company brand into the ground.

This course will rate your drivers competency, and ensure they meet minimum standards of knowledge and positive habits.

Break down of the course

  • A written exam of road rules. (this will immediately point out potentially risky drivers)
  • A tag along where we will sit passenger as your driver goes about on his day. Assessing him every step of the way.
  • In class, where the previous session will make drivers aware of possible dangerous actions and law breaking.
  • Mock test to ensure retention of information.

The classes and assessments can be done at you offices to reduce time off the job. If you need to split up the sessions so that they do not impact on your productivity just let us know.
